Pinoso

Pinoso is a typically Spanish rural town, situated right on the border between the regions of Murcia and of Alicante, in south-eastern Spain.

It is set in mountainous countryside and was formerly an agricultural town but in recent years it has become very popular with expat retirees as a lovely peaceful, traditional town to spend their later years.

Pinoso is only a 40 minute car drive away from the amazing blue flag beaches of Alicante and Torrevieja.

The town is surrounded by vineyards, where various varieties are grown but by far the most popular is the monostrell for which Pinoso has become known.

Pinoso is also known for other produce including Marble, Granite and Rock salt. You can see marvellous examples of local marble as you stroll through the town.

Market day in Pinoso is Saturday. It’s a great opportunity to make friends whilst stocking up on local fresh produce from local farms.

Local Fiestas are celebrated in August and this is a week well worth experiencing (1st Aug – 10th Aug). The whole town virtually stops work and everybody goes full steam into party mood. This really is a fantastic insight into “real Spanish life”.

Approx 24km away you will find the local spa town of Fortuna where you can bathe in the natural hot water springs, said to be very therepeutic. It
